"I Told You It Would Fit In There": Watch 3 Minutes Of NSFW Outtakes From 'Bridesmaids'

After a tough few years, 2011 has turned out pretty well for Universal so far: "Fast Five" is currently the top-grosser of the year, fairly impressive considering its the fifth entry in a franchise, with "Hop" not far behind, and even "Paul" and "The Adjustment Bureau" did better than expectations. ...

Weekend Box Office: 'Pirates 4' Scores Biggest Global Debut Of All-Time Despite Being A Shitty Movie

This weekend, Disney pooled their resources with Jerry Bruckheimer and produced an insta-blockbuster. Apathy is the name of the game with “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” which scored the biggest bow of 2011 despite being a piece of shit that grossed lower in its opening frame than its...

While this year has seen movies like "The Roommate," "Diary Of Wimpy Kid 2" and "The Rite" top the box office, every now and then, America gets it right and puts quality at the top of the pack. Weekend Box Office: 'Thor' Holds #1 With $34.5 million, 'Bridesmaids' Surprises

If you enter the blockbuster business in Hollywood, you essentially enter the $80 million opening weekend business. Which is to say, it’s part of a pray/hope/accept/die model. Considering most blockbusters cost $150-$200 million, with marketing sometimes adding up to $100 million, a 3x’s multiplier after an $80 million opening ($240 million) might be the best-case scenario, unless you‘ve released a much-better-than-expected film (not likely). You double that number with overseas receipts, you’ve potentially got $480-$500 million worldwide on a possible $300 million expenditure. The studio earns 55% of that take, meaning that you’ve approached...

'Bridesmaids' Director Paul Feig: "I Want To Show Hollywood There's A Market For Female Comedies"

While much of the conversation surrounding Friday's genuinely brilliant "Bridesmaids" focuses around its superstar producer, Judd Apatow. And while Apatow had a guiding hand, with the film initially sprung from a development deal the producer struck with co-writer/star Kristen Wiig after her scene-stealing turn in the Apatow-directed "Knocked Up," the man behind the camera is none other than Paul Feig. Feig created "Freaks and Geeks" and has been responsible for a number of memorable television episodes in recent years, helming installments of everything from "Arrested Development" and "Bored to Death" to "30 Rock" and "Mad Men." (He's also d...
