Soundtrack For Richard Linklater's 'Boyhood' Includes Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Flaming Lips & More

During the first screening of Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" at the Sundance Film Festival in January, one of the observations made from the audience during the Q&A was the jam-packed soundtrack of indie-rock songs, Coldplay, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Jeff Tweedy, The Arcade Fire, and so on and so for...

Watch: Jonas Åkerlund-Directed Video For Coldplay's "Magic" Starring Zhang Ziyi

Coldplay has a new album coming out on May 19th called Ghost Stories, and undoubtedly it will be viewed as the Chris Martin/Gwyneth Paltrow breakup album that everyone will be listening all summer because that's what happens when the band releases an album. And to get the promo train started properl...

Listen to Coldplay's 'Atlas' from 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire'

Just because we’re knee-deep in festival season doesn’t mean the rest of the year is devoid of blockbusters. The highly-anticipated sequel “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is a little more than two months away and the first single from the film’s soundtrack has arrived online (via Rope of Silicon) ...

Coldplay To Lend Original Song To Soundtrack Of 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' Plus New Trailer & Image

If there's one thing to be glad of when it comes to the young adult movie revolution, it's the soundtracks. They may not still be on rotation, but given how awful they might have been, the OSTs for these movies have generally been bright spots; the "Twilight" soundtracks were invariably better than ...

Watch: Video For Coldplay's 'Charlie Brown' Directed By 'Road To Guantanamo' Helmer Mat Whitecross

Coldplay seem to be secret movie fans to some degree. Their new album Mylo Xyloto was apparently originally going to be the soundtrack to a movie they were writing, but never finished. And you might have forgotten, but last spring the band got into the film production game, co-finacing the film &quo...

Anton Corbijn To Direct Coldplay Concert Webcast

Longtime rock band photographer and music video director Anton Corbijn waited until relatively late in his career to try his hand at feature filmmaking. His first effort was the austere Ian Curtis biopic "Control," which he followed up last year with the masterful assassin tale "The American." However, it seems like big screen movies aren't quite a comfortable fit for the helmer. Last fall he admitted he may only have one more film left in him, and that may be an adaptation of John le Carré‘s political thriller "A Most Wanted Man," which he signed for back in June. Not much has been heard on that front since, but Corbijn is still plenty busy....

New Coldplay Single 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' Inspired By Random Song In 'Biutiful'

Coldplay are no stranger to plagiarism charges. A couple years back, guitar wizard/nerd Joe Satriani accused the band of ripping off his song "If I Could Fly" on their tune "Viva La Vida." While on the face of it, the idea of any of the dudes in Coldplay (or anybody really) listening to Satriani is hilarious, the similarities are eerie and though the band claimed the similarities were coincidental, everybody settled of court. Cat Stevens also accused the band of copying his tune "Foreign Suite" for the worldwide hit, while some guy named Dan Gallagher said the band copied their video for "Strawberry Swing" off his "Something Else" (which does...

Ray Winstone, Jim Sturgess & Lesley Manville Team For Noir 'Ashes'; Film Co-Financed By Coldplay

We're not sure what's going on in the Chris Martin household, but Apple's parents are looking to be switching up their careers. With Gwyneth Paltrow making strides into the music biz, Martin and his bandmates are now dipping their toes into the hard knock world of film financing.
