New Trailer & Photos Of 'The Help' Starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis & Bryce Dallas Howard

There's sort of two ways to look at DreamWorks' upcoming civil rights drama, "The Help." Set in the 1960s during the civil rights movement, the picture is either (or probably) a) an Oscar contender, b) a literate-minded chick flick (this is a starved audience and Oprah will be endorsing this, you can be sure of it) or c) an interesting mix of the two that may have some worthwhile elements such as, say, "Julie & Julia." August isn't much of an Oscar month so we're leaning away from a), however, the respectable "Julie & Julia" came out in August of 2009 and it earned Meryl Streep a much-earned 16th Oscar nomination (she didn't win, but she's wo...

First Look At Andrew Garfield With Emma Stone In 'Spider-Man'

Granted, it's not much but we figure it will be a while before Sony releases any official shots from the movie so until then we'll have to take what we can get. So some fresh set snaps of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in "Spider-Man" have landed and it's our first real look at the duo in the film.

Captain Obvious News: Emma Stone Reveals She's Signed On For More Than One 'Spider-Man'

Geeks are spazzing a little bit this morning following Emma Stone's appearance last night on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Sitting across from the big-chinned, un-funny man, Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in the upcoming 3D "Spider-Man" reboot, talked about her recent natural blonde locks she's don...

On The Rise: 15 Actresses We Expect Great Things From

So, yesterday, we ran down some of the names that keep cropping up on the endless wishlist stories that run at the moment -- the women who've been continually linked to the hot projects around town. Some of those actors we love, some we don't, but they're quantifiably the names that every director a...

Emma Stone Won't Be Hanging Out At '21 Jump Street' With Jonah Hill

Shooting On 'Spider-Man' Starts In 2 WeeksBummer. Once the rising Emma Stone signed on for "Spider-Man" we sort of figured this would happen but held out a glimmer of hope that with "21 Jump Street" shooting early-ish next year (filming was pushed back slightly on the film), somehow she would be abl...

Denis Leary Joins The Cast Of Marc Webb's 3D 'Spider-Man' Reboot

Perhaps someone is a fan of FX's "Rescue Me" show? This writer hasn't seen it, but we hear it's rather engrossing. Anyhow, the show's creator and star Denis Leary has joined the cast of Marc Webb's 3D reboot of "Spider-Man."

'Easy A' Team Will Gluck & Emma Stone To Reteam For New Comedy, Starts Filming Summer 2011

"Easy A" was definitely one of our favorite comedies of the year. Led by a thoroughly charming Emma Stone in a starmaking turn, the film was the rare female-led comedy that was smart, witty and ridiculously fun and funny. We loved it to bits. So color us very excited that director Will Gluck isn't w...

Channing Tatum Likely To Pair With Jonah Hill In '21 Jump Street'

A Career Move Now Known As 'Doing A Wahlberg'It feels like only a few weeks since we were expressing bafflement at the success of the career of Keanu-esque golem Channing Tatum, who's already worked with Michael Mann, Steven Soderbergh and Kevin Macdonald, and been praised by the likes of Nicolas Wi...

Martin Sheen To Play Uncle Ben In 'Spider-Man' Reboot

Let Bartlett Be Bartlett Ben We're going to come out and say this now -- we're in an uncharacteristically optimistic mood about the "Spider-Man" reboot. Aside from the excellent middle chapter, Sam Raimi's films were fairly disappointing, so it's not like there's room for improvement. There's a sc...
