Watch: Dazzling, Lively Trailer For Wim Wenders' 3D Dance Doc 'Pina'

We'll be honest here. A documentary on dance isn't exactly our first choice for something to watch. Call us snobs, but hey, dance just isn't our bag. Combine that with a vehicle directed by Wim Wenders -- a great filmmaker to be sure -- who hasn't made a worthwhile film in years. So we'll be damned ...

Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Drive' Will Hit Theaters September 16, 2011 Via Film District

We're bordering on giving Nicolas Winding Refn a *** job with all the myriad reports on his work, but what can we say, we admire the Danish filmmakers work ("Bronson," "The Pusher" trilogy, "Valhalla Rising") and his upcoming film "Drive" is very high up on our most anticipated 2011 list. So we'll k...

Ryan Gosling & Nicolas Winding Refn May Team Up Again For An Undisclosed "Pop Culture Franchise"

Actor Says He'd Consider A Role Like 'The Flash' If The Danish Filmmaker Was Directing; Has Discussed 'Wonder Woman' With Him TooEXCLUSIVE: We recently sat down and talked with Ryan Gosling about Derek Cianfrance's very-excellent and now R-Rated relationship drama “Blue Valentine,” and yes, of course our conversation veered off into other topics chiefly Gosling's upcoming collaboration with Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn on the action drama, "Drive," co-starring Carey Mulligan. A big fan of the director's gnarly, twisted and previous works like the prison drama, "Bronson," or the near-psychedelic, meditative Viking actioner,"Valhalla R...

While omnibus films tend to be a mixed bag, we keep going back to them because the talent always seems to promise great things, and in the case of the forthcoming "7 Days In Havana," that's no exception.

Review: 'The Tourist' Is Not Worth Getting Out Your Passport For

From the very first shot of the film, director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck makes it evident that "The Tourist" will attempt to be flashy, frothy entertainment. An impeccably dressed police captain climbs into the back of a van with three more impeccably dressed officers, bringing them a tray of espresso, in some pretty fabulous looking takeout cups (no grimy We Are Happy To Serve You style cups for these guys). It's a minor detail, but the scene is indicative of the film as a whole. More often choosing fabulous locations, set design and attire over realism, charm or originality, "The Tourist" mostly feels like walking through a very expe...
