    Toronto and the Fall Market Season Begins (The Real Rights List)

    Now that everyone has listed the new titles announced for Toronto, Venice and San Sebastian, Locarno is over, Rome is waiting in the wings, and Telluride has finally told, I would like to do a survey of some films' sales' stats. IM Global is treating Toronto as an all-out market. The sales agents as well as the publicists are positioning their films via email to the trade.     Rights Round Up Cannes 2010 by International Sales Agent: A-C

    One of the most popular reports I publish is the Rights Roundup to show the trade who sold what to whom during the market (Cannes in this case). The ISAs (international sales agents) are all linked to their own websites. I wish all of the distribution companies who pick up the films for their territories (there are about 40 territories) and all the titles were also linked, but I lack the manpower to do the job 100% so only some are linked to their own company websites, or in the case of titles, to IMDbPro Title Pages.     Rights Round Up Cannes 2010 by International Sales Agent: H - L

    Hanway has licensed Nowhere Boy to Gaga for Japan. It presold David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method to Lionsgate for U.K. Universal Pictures International (UPI) for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa. Picture will start in May. Mars picked it up for France, E1 for Canada, Transmission for Australia and Cineartfor Benelux. It is based on the true-life turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud and his patient Sabina and is adapted by screenwriter Christopher Hampton from his play The Talking Cure.
