Review: 'Lion King 3D' Maintains All of the Majesty of the Original, With Added Dimensional Sparkle

A few years ago, Disney planned a theatrical release for a 3D version of "Beauty & the Beast," using the cutting edge, post-"Avatar" technology that we've all come to know so well (and sometimes dread just as much). The conversion took place, at great expense, but the theatrical engagement (originally set for February, 2010) never materialized. Still, the studio pressed ahead (Walt always said that good ideas never die), and this week the studio's traditionally animated crown jewel "The Lion King," in a shiny new 3D format, will get a proper release – in 2,000 3D screens across the country. But what does a 3D version of a traditionally animat...

Watch: Trailer For Star-Studded Financial Drama 'Margin Call' Arrives

Given that it was as significant an event in the world as any in the last century, it's not surprising that Hollywood have finally turned their eye to the 2008 financial apocalypse; even if it's unlikely to bring in the teens, it's inherently dramatic subject matter, and this year has already seen C...

Bradley Cooper Joins 'The Words'; Jeremy Irons In Talks; Directorial Debut By 'Tron: Legacy' Writers

Though his profile was raised considerably thanks to a starring turn in "The Hangover," Bradley Cooper isn't quite proven outside of that comedy vehicle. Yet. Oh sure, he had "The A-Team" last summer, but that was sold more on the franchise than the actors and its terribleness was due mostly to the atrocious material than anything else. Coming up, he's got the thriller "Limitless" that will be the first real test of his leading man status and he will be testing the waters with none other than Robert De Niro in that pic. But clearly, Cooper isn't eager to get pigeonholed into frat boy comedy and his next project is another shift of direction f...
