'The Tree Of Life,' 'Drive' & 'Melancholia' Head Up Mouth-Watering 2011 Cannes Line-Up

Almodovar, Paolo Sorrentino, Takashi Miike, The Dardenne Brothers & Lynne Ramsay; Also In Line-Up; 'Pirates 4,' 'Kung Fu Panda 2' & 'The Beaver' To Play Out Of CompetitionThis morning brought one of the moments on the calendar that every serious film lover awaits with bated breath: the announcement of the line-up for this year's Cannes Film Festival, still the most prestigious on the circuit. Year after year, some of the world's best directors hold off to debut their new films on the Croisette, and virtually every year brings at least one stone-cold classic -- along, of course, with the famous Cannes bombs. With last year's selection generall...

Unnecessary Animated Sequel Face-Off: New Trailers For 'Cars 2' & 'Kung Fu Panda 2'

Plus 'Puss In Boots,' If You Hate Your KidsIt's looked for a while now to be a fairly grim year for animation, but things took an uptick this past weekend with "Rango' -- a gorgeous, offbeat, surprisingly adult western which, while not a home-run, has more than enough to recommend it. Unfortunately,...

Super Bowl Spots: 'Battle Los Angeles,' 'Fast Five,' 'Priest' & More

Additional Superbowl Ads From 'Drive Angry 3D,' 'Rango,' 'Kung Fu Panda 2,' 'Rio,' Limitless,' 'Just Go With It' & Many, Many MoreApparently there's this thing called the Superbowl on TV. This writer doesn't even have the TV on, but gotta say, watching Twitter watch the Superbowl ads is pretty amusing. There will be spots from 2011 movies popping up during the show all night. Below are some of the latest that have aired, including, "Battle: Los Angeles," "Fast Five," and "Priest," plus other spots released earlier in the week. The best one so far of all these, is by far, Jonathan Liebesman's alien invasion picture starring Aaron Eckhart. Trai...

Watch: 'Rango' Superbowl Spot, Plus Hear Los Lobos' Theme For The Movie

'Kung Fu Panda 2' Spot Lands TooAfter a truly golden few years for animation, 2011 is looking a little fallow. There's the usual mix of uninspiring also-rans, with the likes of "Gnomeo and Juliet," "Mars Needs Moms" and "Rio" all hitting in the next few months, but even the big dogs seem to have decided not to really bother this time around, with Pixar, Dreamworks and Warner Bros all turning out sequels to less-than-beloved originals in the form of "Cars 2," "Kung Fu Panda 2," "Puss In Boots" and "Happy Feet 2." We're moderately hopeful about Aardman's latest, "Arthur Christmas," and Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin," but for the ...

'Kung Fu Panda 2' Teaser Trailer Released

Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting... AgainGeeks flipping for any kind of morsel of news were all jazzed up this weekend when the synopsis and new logo (wow!) for "Kung Fu Panda 2: Kaboom Of Doom" appeared online on the film's official site. Now something a little more concrete, though barely, has arrived in the film's teaser trailer, which like most teaser trailers doesn't show a lot. All of the original characters (and their celebrity voices) will be reprising their respective roles; Jack Black (Po), Angelina Jolie (Tigress), Jackie Chan (Monkey), Seth Rogen (Mantis), Lucy Liu (Viper), David Cross (Crane) and Dustin Hoffman (Master Shifu). New ...
