First Look At Jemaine Clement As The Villain In 'Men In Black III'

A trailer for the "Men In Black 3" hit just before Christmas and mostly focused on the time-jumping storyline and Josh Brolin's eerie Tommy Lee Jones impersonation, but we didn't see much in the way of creatures or a villain (probably because VFX are still being worked on). Well, now a peek at the b...

2011: The Year The Big Projects Died & Studios Discovered (A Little) Fiscal Responsibility

The giant financial crisis that began in 2008 is probably the single event that's had the most wide-reaching ramifications since 9/11, but, as ever, it's taken a few years for the film industry to reflect that, bar the occasional handy coincidence, like "Up in the Air." For the most part, 2011 was t...

Watch: Josh Brolin Nails His Tommy Lee Jones Impression In First Trailer For 'Men In Black 3'

Of all the big tentpole pictures of next year, none seems to have had a more troubled production than "Men in Black 3." The first film in the series, in 1997, was an enjoyable sci-fi comedy, but it took five years to get a sequel together,  and when "Men In Black 2" hit thea...

Bill Hader Calls The 'To-Do List' A Raunchy 'Sixteen Candles' & Talks 'Men In Black 3'

Comedian Says 'House Of Joel' Might Be Dead; Says Josh Brolin Is "Scary Good" In 'MIB3'Among the sea of comedic actors currently working in Hollywood, one of our favorites is Bill Hader, if not for his uncanny talent and savvy mimicry skills, then for his desire to strike out as a multi-hyphenate co...

Will Smith Probably Doing A New Song For 'Men In Black 3'

Granted, this isn't official and is a bit of connect-the-dots work, but we think it's a fairly safe guess at this point. As "Men In Black 3" gets out of its long and arduous shoot and heads into the final lap to get ready to hit screens next summer, it appears one tradition of each of the previous f...

'Men In Black 3' Budget Apparently Up To $215 Million

The production of "Men In Black 3" is approaching "Waterworld"-esque proportions. The problems have been well documented but here's the short version: production started on the film late last year in New York to take advantage of tax rebates. The problem was, there wasn't a finished script. No matter, filming got underway and the plan was to shoot the present day sequences first (which they did), take a hiatus to nail down the script, and then regroup to do all the time travel stuff. Well, the start date for the second half of the production was slightly pushed as they still continued to tinker with the script and to date, no less than four s...

Bill Hader Is Andy Warhol In 'Men In Black 3'

Whether this shapes up to be the most expensive trainwreck sequel of all time or is salvaged into something watchable, the myriad problems surrounding "Men In Black 3" are certainly no secret. But there's one reason we'll hit the multiplex to watch this: Bill Hader playing Andy Warhol.

'A Serious Man' Star Michael Stuhlbarg Joins The Still-Filming 'Men in Black 3'

The ugly portrait of Hollywood stupidity and hubris -- "hey, we'll figure out the script on set, no problem!" -- is a slightly antiquated one given the rise of successful improvisation, not only in comedy which was the norm, but big-budget narrative (see "Iron Man" where Jon Favreau and co. literally figured out scenes moments before they were shot), but can still be occasionally framed as a cautionary tale. See the latest example: "Men In Black 3" or "Men In Black 3D" whatever you want to call it. Sony's very expensive tentpole revival 10 years after the fact ("MIB2" was released in 2002) has been shooting on and off since December and is st...

Josh Brolin Creeps Us Out As Young Tommy Lee Jones In 'Men In Black 3'

It's good to see that Will Smith can still smile considering "Men In Black 3" has gone through a troubled production period that has seen a rotating number of writers trying to get the script up to par, not to mention a budget that is now soaring north of $200 million. But that's not what we're here...
