Review: Too Meta 'Human Centipede Part 2' Almost Reaches The All-Time Gross-Out Pantheon

Is Tom Six a filmmaker? Is Tom Six a storyteller? No, at this point, you’ll have to conclude he is neither of these things. What he is represents something maybe more honest, more pure: he’s a provocateur. In making “The Human Centipede: First Sequence,” Six took a memorably deranged subject of medi...

New Poster For ‘The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)’ Is Basically )) < > (( Multiplied

Even though it stirred up a minor controversy no one really cared about when it was was more or less banned in the U.K., Tom Six's probably unnecessary "The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)" is gearing up to premiere tonight at Fantasic Fest and soon enough we'll hear if the follow-up was a worthwh...

The Weinstein Company Picks Up Sean Penn's Goth Holocaust Dramedy 'This Must Be The Place'

Lionsgate Nabs Midnight Madness Horror Flick 'You're Next'The biggest WTF movie so far this year has been Paolo Sorrentino's followup to his acclaimed "Il Divo," the Sean Penn starring "This Must Be Place." Premiering to a very mixed reception at Cannes this spring (that's sort of putting it kindly), the story follows a (seemingly) barely functioning goth rocker (Penn doing his best Robert Smith impression) who finds out his father he hasn’t seen in 30 years is dead and then goes on a road trip to find the SS Officer who made his life hell when he was imprisoned at Auschwitz. No, really, that's the plot. But it seems the Weinsteins know a cha...

The Last Place You Wanna Be Is Cooped Up With A Dozen Norwegian Guys In 'The Thing' Red Band Trailer

Forget all those awards season prestige movies and international arthouse hits. With TIFF, Venice and Telluride over, it's now back to blockbuster schlock, so let's get on with the unnecessary "The Thing" remake shall we?

Post-Fall Film Festival Season: Five Movies We're Still Eagerly Awaiting

And Five We're Worried About/DreadingWith the Toronto International Film Festival now over, the dust is beginning to settle on 2011 and we're moving into the final stage of the fall movie season. Many, if not most, of autumn's Oscar season big hitters have now been revealed, leaving principally commercial fare, and a few prestige-y films that are rushing towards completion. As ever, the benefits of opening your Christmas presents early is a mixed bag; it means that we're able to firmly recommend some big fall films, movies like "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," "Shame" and "We Need To Talk About Kevin." It means we can also tell you to be wary of ...

Watch: A Wedding Goes Horribly Wrong In Teaser Trailer For '[REC] 3 Genesis'

So, how successful is the Spanish horror franchise "[REC]"? Well, the original was released just a few years ago in 2007 and we're already on the third installment with a fourth entry, "[Rec] Apocalypse" already planned. But before we get to that, "[REC] 3 Genesis" will arrive to keep the magic goin...

‘The Thing’ Remake Yells "Boo!" In First Clip

The hype generator surrounding Universal’s pricey remake/reimagining/whatever of John Carpenter’s 1982 chiller “The Thing” (itself a remake of 1951’s “The Thing From Another World”) has been on the fritz lately. We first got a fairly impressive look at the movie way back at last year’s New York Comic Con. At that point the film was scheduled for an April 29th, 2011 bow, before getting pushed back considerably to the more Halloween-friendly slot of October 14th, 2011. While this new release date is right around the corner, only one trailer and a single mysterious poster for the flick had surfaced in recent months (though we’re just happy it’s ...

Watch: ‘The Human Centipede II’ Aussie Trailer Has Some People Pretending To Be Scared

Also Suggests U.S. Version Will Be CutSo, how low rent and cheaply shocking will "The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)" be? Judging by the Australian trailer for the film, which features a bunch of bad actors pretending to be scared by the film, director Tom Six seems to have given up.
