The Improved Oscar Show with Ellen, Lupita, Jared & Adele Dazeem

I did not have great hopes for the Oscar show going in -- I'm not even an Ellen fan -- but you cannot hate anything that has Brad Pitt passing around pizza and John Travolta creating an entirely new name for the person he was introducing (Adele Dazeem, a star is born).

Watch: All Oscar Acceptance Speeches For Best Picture & Major Categories Plus The Entire Show In 2 Minutes

For anyone watching the Oscars at home last night, they may have noticed something a different about the speeches this year....no one really got played off. Another year has passed, and with it, some of the cinema's most beloved artists passed away. And so it goes, the Oscars took a moment to remember them all (except Alain Resnais) with the annual In Memoriam segment.

Watch: Oscar Show Musical Performances By Karen O, Pharrell Williams, Idina Menzel & Pink

Watch: Ellen DeGeneres Opening Oscars Monologue

After Seth MacFarlane stunk up the joint with his frat boy antics during last year's Oscar show, the Academy course corrected and asked Ellen DeGeneres back to the stage (she hosted in 2007) and it was good choice. And in case you missed it, we've got the full opening monologue for you to check out.

Oscar Selfie Crashes Twitter, Breaks Retweet Record

One of the genius moments from the 86th Oscars was Ellen DeGeneres collecting multiple attendees into an impromptu Oscar selfie with herself, Jared Leto, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Juia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, and Lupita Nyong'o and her brother Junior.

2014 Oscar Winners: 'Gravity' Wins 7, '12 Years A Slave' Takes Best Picture, 'American Hustle' Shut Out

...And that's it on another year. As always, the Oscars were both exciting, (mostly) sleep inducing, surprising and left us with lots to talk about. But it's late, we're tired and filled with nacho cheese, so we're going to be a bit brief for now.
