Given Friday is Canada Day and that it's Pride Week in Toronto, it seemed only appropriate to launch this little series of fun (or, actually, mostly horrifying) facts. Thirty years ago, the Toronto bathhouse raids - probably as important to Canada's movement as Stonewall was in the US - went down, which saw the city face a massive, violent raid on four bathhouses that resulted in the arrest of 304 men. It remains one of the largest mass arrests in Canadian history, and came after a series of smaller but no less terrifying campaigns by Toronto police. Read More »I'm biting my tongue from "when you're super hot and still a bit under the radar, I'm not too sure how difficult publicly coming out really could be" kind of comments with regard to actress Amber Heard announcing she's a lesbian this weekend, because the main thing to take from the news is that it's definitely awesome Heard did this, and the more is always the merrier when it comes to open queers in Hollywood.
