Weekend Box Office: 'Tron' Saves Face, 'How Do You Know' Doesn't Get To Know Anyone

Are you ready for another “Avatar” experience? No? Well, okay, guess that’s fine. “Tron: Legacy” opened to the same midnight numbers as the James Cameron epic, but failed to equal that film’s general attendance or gross in its first weekend. 'Tron' has been pushed for a couple of years now as a near...

In Theaters: 'Tron: Legacy,' 'How Do You Know,' 'Yogi Bear,' 'Rabbit Hole'

Hollywood lays out the red carpet for "Tron: Legacy" this week, because there's surprisingly little competition for the 3D spectacle this high-season almost holiday weekend. Maybe studio execs assume everyone's going to be spending those hard earned bucks on gifts or warm and toasty yuletide libations. At any rate, despite the rather slim pickins there's a little something for everyone at the multiplex, and even some awards-season contenders for those of ...

Review: 'How Do You Know' Is An Uneven But Ultimately Pleasant Experience

With a recent influx of middling romantic comedies, it's easy to forget how different the genre used to be. Now very polished and only a success if it stars 40 different actors/actresses each with three minutes of screen time, movies including "Green Card" and "Crossing Delancey" showed a different side of things. Instead of drowning audiences in star power, they offered a down-to-earth and complex female individual with an unfortunate penchant for choosing the wrong guy. It was easy to figure out who to root for, but there was something more to it. It may have been the comfortable aura the movies had about them, or the fact that their protag...

First Looks At 'The Hangover 2,' 'Horrible Bosses,' 'Hall Pass' & 'Something Borrowed'

It's almost December, which means that 2010 is already starting to sneak out from under the covers, before putting its clothes on and disappearing forever. That in turn means that the studios are starting to send out their promotional materials for their 2011 slates. Between these and the 2011 previ...
