In Theaters: 'Hop' Will Try To Deprogram 'Source Code' & Scare Away 'Insidious'

TGIF! With a crop of new releases we are finally, FINALLY released from our bonds requiring us to flagellate poor "Sucker Punch" to death. Why were you a failure, "Sucker Punch"? Was it the marketing/storytelling/CGI/demographics/Zack Snyder?! Do we have to worry about "Superman"/girls/original source material??? We may never know. Moving on! We've got a new futuristic sci-fi, based-on-an-original-script, helmed-by-a-hot-new-piece-of-director-ass film to fret over! That's right, it's "Source Code" from Duncan Jones! In the other corner, we've got the ace-in-the-hole, aimed squarely at the kid demographic, "Hop," and quivering outside the wide...

Review: 'Rubber' Is The Convention Defying Movie You Would Expect From A Pic About A Killer Tire

"Rubber" is the story of a tire that gains consciousness and decides to kill. He doesn't talk, dance, or sing, and he doesn't develop any lasting relationships with any humans, animals, or fellow tires. How do you tell a story like this? "Rubber" seems to have already asked that question, which is w...

Interview: 'Rubber' Helmer Quentin Dupieux Talks Killer Pic, Says 'Inception' Is "Not Cool & Boring"

Reveals His Next Project 'Wrong' Is About A Missing Dog But He'd Rather Not Try And Pitch ItThere are few films we can think of as singularly weird as "Rubber." The story, following a vindictive, lovelorn tire that goes on a killing rampage in a small Southwestern town, is strange and oddly affecting – a tale of loneliness, where the protagonist just happens to be a rubber wheel. And this is before you start talking about the audience who is "watching" the movie unfold (and getting picked off one by one). Hearing the premise for "Rubber," your first thought is probably, "Who the hell came up with this?" Well, that'd be French filmmaker and mu...

Watch: Red Band Trailer For 'Rubber' Is A Head Exploding Good Time

"Rubber" is about a killer tire. Yes, a tire. And that's all you need to know really and if the gonzo concept isn't enough to get you interested, than this hilariously outrageous red band trailer for the film should do the trick.

Pulpy New Poster For Arthouse Killer Tire Movie 'Rubber' Debuts

Those of you waiting for a theatrical release of Quentin Dupieux’s killer tire flick “Rubber,” will be able to scratch that itch in about a month. For those too impatient, the film is currently playing on Video On Demand. The gonzo film directed by Dupieux also known as Mr. Oizo, the French electro musician who also provides the score, has been making the rounds at festivals from Cannes to Fantastic Fest and picking up mostly positive reviews. We were pretty impressed with the trailer so our fingers are crossed that it is the definitive killer tire movie of our generation. With the film now out on VOD and the theatrical date just around the c...

Contest Giveaway: 10 Pairs Of Tickets To The New York City Advance Screening Of 'Rubber'

Director Quentin Dupieux, aka Mr. Oizo, Will Attend For Q&A"Are you tired of the expected?" Funny haha on the pun-heavy tagline, but really, this is one of the most absurd-sounding film concepts we've heard in ages, which of course makes it completely intriguing.

Watch: Glorious Trailer For Mr. Oizo's Arthouse/B-Movie Thriller 'Rubber'

The history of the musician-turned-film-director isn't exactly a glorious one, seeing as Fred Durst is pretty much the only example that springs to mind. But we've got high hopes for RZA's directorial debut, the kung fu feature "The Man With The Golden Fist," which is currently filming in China, and...
