Has Spike Lee Been Released From Director's Jail...For The 'Oldboy' Remake?

All in all, Spike Lee is one of our favorite working filmmakers, and really, how could the man behind "She's Gotta Have It," "Do The Right Thing," "Malcolm X" and "25th Hour" not be? But he's also extremely inconsistent, and the critical and commercial failure of his last picture, the WW2 drama "Mir...

Spike Lee Heads To HBO For 'Da Brick,' A Drama Series Based On The Life Of Mike Tyson

It seems HBO is desperate to find something, anything to stand in the place of "Entourage" after the final season airs this year. Last year, they launched "How To Make It In America," a show that copies the same basic format but swaps out Hollywood for the fashion industry (though, to be fair, it's ...

Lists are subjective. That's the joy of them, to some degree -- you get to see the tastes of others, and hopefully pick up a few tips for things you may have overlooked. And you're never going to find a list that you agree with 100%, particularly when the stakes are bigger -- lists of 'greatest film...

It Looks Like Spike Lee Has Scrapped His Michael Jackson-Centric, 'Brooklyn Loves MJ' Project

In April of last year, it was reported that director Spike Lee was working on a new feature-length drama about gentrification called, "Brooklyn Loves MJ" that was rumored to star Samuel L. Jackson, John Turturro, Julianne Moore, Rosie Perez, Anthony Mackie and Kerry Washington. We confirmed as much (at least the existence of) when we got our hands on the script. Lawyers for Lee made us remove all and every trace of details about the screenplay, but some elements about the project remain here on this Associated Content Yahoo blog (not our site .esq dudes). They write, the film is expected to "examine the potential community impact of a tribute...
