Letter to a Father

Argentinian director Edgardo Cozarinsky and the Viennale have forged a stimulating and fruitful relationship in recent years. Cozarinsky’s highly personal, essayistic and playful cinema has many admirers here, his readings and talks are small intellectual adventures full of surprises. And now he has entrusted the Viennale with the world premiere of his new film. CARTA A UN PADRE is one of Cozarinsky’s personal pieces, the search of a son following in his father’s adventurous traces, a story of emigration, Jewishness, new countries and old fears, the sea, of family, of memory and forgetting. A tender, speculative, observant and wonderfully rich letter to a long lost father. [Synopsis courtesy of Viennale]
