Slamdance '97 Announces Awards
In a ceremony Thursday night, the 1997 Slamdance Film Festival announced
it’s jury and audience awards. The Grand Prize Jury Award went to
Daniel J. Harris’ “The Bible And Gun Club“, while Azazel Jacobs’ “Kirk And
Carrie” and Paul Benz’ “Three Minutes” split the jury prize for Best Short.
Michael Paradies Shoob’s “Driven” won an honorable mention in the feature
category and David Bears’ “Angry Man” won the Ilford award for best black
and white film. The audience awards went to Michael Davis’ “Eight Days A
Week” (dramatic), Dwaine Lavolde’ “Loafing” (short) and Nicholas
Hondgren’s “Perfect Moment” (documentary). The festival concluded
yesterday with a party at Treasure Mountain Inn.
