Litwak Launching Distributor Survey Site

Litwak Launching Distributor Survey Site

by Mark Rabinowitz

Noted entertainment attorney and producers rep Mark Litwak has launched the Filmmaker’s Clearinghouse, a new service for independent filmmakers, designed to give them a web-based forum to disseminate information about their experiences with distributors. Designed to include both positive and negative data about distributors from the point of view of the filmmaker, the web site is set to be a non-partisan source of information to be used by filmmakers much as consumers would use the Better Business Bureau.

Filmmakers would fill out a survey form and Litwak would then verify the source of the information. Forms submitted by questionable sources would be eliminated, but there will be no editing or recommendations made by the Clearinghouse on those forms that check out.

The survey form, and later the compilation of data, can be found at: www.laig.com/law/entlaw/survey.htm and will also be found in mailings by the Clearinghouse’s sponsors (Film Arts Foundation, Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers and MovieMaker Magazine) and in the IFP Calendar. The survey can also be requested to be mailed by calling Litwak at 310.859.9595 or faxing 310.859.0806
