Park City 98: "Next Stop" Miramax?

by indieWIRE

indieWIRE has learned that Miramax has signed a deal for the rights to Brad
Anderson’s Sundance dramatic competition film, “Next Stop Wonderland.” Informed
sources indicated early this morning (Sunday) that the pact is a high seven
figure, multi-picture deal. Rumors of the agreement began circulating yesterday
evening. Last night as the film unspooled at the Egyptian Theater on Main St,
an insider indicated that an announcement would be made this morning. More
details of the agreement became available late last night as festival-goers
in-the-know began making the party circuit. Word now has it that the deal
announcement might not come until tomorrow.

“Next Stop Wonderland” starring Hope Davis first screened here Friday at
the Sundance Institute screening room. Brad Anderson is the director of the
1996 Sundance competition entry “The Darien Gap.” The movie was written by
Anderson and Lyn Vaus.
