Dimension Digs Dylan Dog

Miramax‘s “genre division” Dimension Films, has picked up the theatrical
motion picture rights to Platinum Studios best-selling horror comic
book, “Dylan Dog.” The comic was created by Tiziano Sclavi and published
by Sergio Bonelli Editore, “Dog” has become the #1 selling horror comic
book worldwide since its debut in 1986. In a prepared statement,
Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein said, “Dylan is a great character,
and the story is such a taut mystery and at the same time funny,” adding
“I see this as a project with franchise potential.” The film version of
“Dylan Dog” is to be called “Dead of Night” and will be written by
Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, with Breck Eisner set to
direct. The project will be produced by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg,
Chairman of Platinum Studios, along with Platinum’s Ervin Rustemagic
(President) and Gregory a (Vice President of Production).
