Parker Set for "Wilde" Pic; Taylor in Kalem Movie

An adaptation for Oscar Wilde’s play “An Ideal Husband” recently started
production at Leavesden Studios in London. Oliver Parker (“Othello“) wrote
the screenplay and directs Cate Blanchett, Minnie Driver, Rupert Everett,
Julianne Moore and Jeremy Northam in the film. Set at the turn of the last
century in London, it is a romantic comedy about political ambition and
sexual intrigue. “Husband” is being produced by Fragile Films in association
with Icon Productions, Pathe Pictures and The Arts Council of England.

Actress Toni Kalem (“Sister Act“) makes her feature directorial debut with
the indie “A Slipping Down Life“, a drama about a shy woman who meets and
marries a pop star who’s lifestyle begins to threaten their relationship.
Currently shooting in Austin, TX, the film is based on a novel from Anne
Tyler and stars Tom Bower (“Nixon“), Guy Pearce (“LA Confidential“), Lili
Taylor (“Household Saints“), and Bruno Kirby (“City Slickers“). The pic is
produced by Richard Raddon (“Shooting Lily“), co-produced by Steven Brown
(“The Apostle“), and exec. produced by Derinda Dallas and Robin Lieberman. lists the 6-week shoot’s budget at $3 million.
