1999 New York's New Director's/New Films Series Lineup Set

28 Films Set for 28th New Director's Series

Tweny-eight films will screen at the 28th New Director’s/New Films Series (March 26 – April 11) presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Department of Film and Video of the Museum of Modern Art. The acclaimed annual event will feature the directorial debuts of eight directors this year — Michael Polish, Julian Goldberger, and Eric Mendelshon from the U.S., Peter Mullan and Christopher Nolan from the U.K., Jia Zhangke from China, Lebanese filmmaker Ziad Doueiri, and Fernando Vendrell from Portugal. Returning to the event with new films are four directors — Tom Tykwer, Julio Medem, Francois Ozon, and Ana Kokkinos.

The complete lineup for the event which will be held at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art follows:
