DAILY NEWS: NYC & LA Offer Short Showcases with Dotcom Angle

(indieWIRE/6.9.00) — The acclaimed independent film and video showcase,
REEL NEW YORK, returns for its fifth season tonight on WNET (New York’s public television station). This year, the event will also include an
online showcase that will feature web-based art.

Among the 12 online projects featured are, “Disseminet” which includes
personal memories from site visitors, and “Empire 24/7” which offers a
webcam view of the Empire State Building as a tribute to Andy Warhol‘s famed film on the same subject.

The eight-week television program will kick off with screenings of Lisa
‘ “Tree Shade,” and Danny Leiner‘s “Time Expired.” Later in the series, the program will showcase Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, while the series will also offer the first full screening of Robert Frank‘s “Pull My Daisy,” featuring narration by Jack Kerouac with appearances by Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso and Peter Orlovsky.
