The multi-talented musician and actress Rebecca Moore, who can be seen soon in our latest Super 8 short film, UP AND DOWN, is performing this Friday, May 21 with her band Prevention of Blindness at Sin-e in the Lower East Side, NYC. Rebecca’s music is lush and dark, with lovely string arrangements and poignant lyrics. I don’t like to make comparisons, as her music obviously has many influences, with no one song sounding like another, but it reminds me of PJ Harvey, Bjork, Cat Power, and Dirty Three.
Check out her song, WINTER BLESSING, a terribly moving, nursery rhyme like piece that is incredibly timely.
See the show this Friday at Sin-e. 150 Attorney Street, between Houston and the lonely eastern edge of Stanton Street.
