I don’t know about you, but when the President of the United States starts following the trends of the presidents of nearly 100 years ago, I think we might be in trouble.
The NAACP announced today that George W. Bush declined an invitation to its annual convention this year. While Bush did attend the 2000 convention while campaigning, he has reportedly declined an invitation every year of his presidency. This makes Bush the first president to not attend an NAACP convention since Herbert Hoover. That’s correct, since the early 1930s. And don’t forget that Hoover was not a well-liked President, afterall the media of the time blamed him for the Great Depression.
What is Bush thinking? Is he really so busy that he can’t make time for the NAACP?
