This week’s New Yorker goes on location with the Sundance Channel’s update of the Robert Altman / Garry Trudeau political series, TANNER ’88. Just in time for the coming election, TANNER ON TANNER follows Tanner’s daughter (played by Cynthia Nixon) as she makes a documentary about her father’s political career. Always with an eye for detail, Altman’s show features a scene at a film festival with real film industry types such as Robert Redford and Bingham Ray. When the show airs in October, keep an eye out for the indieWIRE logo and copies of indieWIRE Monthly at the fictional fest, as the show asked to use our likeness and publication (distributed at fests around the country) for the scene.
