The trailer for the new Trey Parker/Matt Stone film claims boldly:
“Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, George Clooney, Liv Tyler, Susan Sarandaon, Martin Sheen, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Moore, George W. Bush, John Kerry and Kim Jong Il…are all going to be really, really mad when they see, ‘Team America: World Police’.”
Fan sites and blogs have been buzzing about “Team America: World Police” and according to The Drudge Report, the film already has one big enemy. An anonymous “senior White House adviser” has denounced the film to Drudge, a move that is great news for execs at Paramount, which plans to release the film in October just before Election Day.
Described as an action adventure film from the creators of South Park, featuring an all-marionette cast, the film’s website says that “Team America” is the story of “an international police force dedicated to maintaining global stability (that) learns that a power hungry dictator is brokering weapons of mass destruction to terrorists. The heroes embark upon a harrowing mission to save the world.”
