Catching up from last week…had a chance to see Dylan Kidd’s latest, “P.S.” The “Roger Dodger” writer/director has a way with stories about growing up. In “Dodger” it was a look at the life of a fresh-faced kid coming to the big city under the wing of an overbearing male role model, while in “P.S.” we see a young college student (Topher Grace) trying to sort out a confusing relationship with an older woman (his college admissions officer, played by Laura Linney).
As my colleague Wendy mentioned last week, Topher Grace shines in Kidd’s new film. He is the highlight of the movie and no doubt will be getting a lot of well-deserved attention for this performance.
The film will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival before its October opening.
