Five New Albums Worth Your Dime

Five New Albums Worth Your Dime

1. The Arcade Fire, Funeral (These Canadians deliver an unexpected surprise. This is a powerful record, one that evokes everyone from The Shins to Bjork. Very, very good.)

2. Interpol, Antics (Perhaps not as good as their debut, this sophomore disc is still a solid listen. This time, they draw more from 1960s pop than 1980s New Wave.)

3. Cake, Pressure Chief (Pretty standard stuff from this poppy collective. Still infectious, if not challenging, and definitely worth catching live.)

4. Madvillain, Madvillainy (Trippy, abrasive and undeniable underground hip-hop. This an outfit to keep an eye on.)

5. The Honorary Title, Anything Else But The Truth (Like Dashboard Confessional, but scruffier and smarter. Oh, and with a lot more of a Jeff Buckley influence too. Indie folk that wears its heart on its tattooed sleeve.)
