AFI/AFM 2004.1: Indie 103.1

Okay, just arrived in L.A. a couple of hours ago. Grabbed my rental car, and immediately tuned in to 103.1 FM… the radio station that’s making news across the country as a viable form of programming good rock radio and still being a success. Sure enough, within minutes I was getting everything from The New York Dolls to Jimmy Eat World. Plus, I heard the new single from U.K. band The Music, who I kinda dismissed after their first album was so-so, but this new single (from a new record) has me interested again. Indie 103.1 will easily become a familiar friend by the time this trip is over.

Not much to say right now, just picked up my passes and party invitations and then grabbed a quick snack at Baja Fresh. The plane ride was fine, and it’s nice when the in-flight movie is something you always kind of wanted to see but never enough to go to a theater. In this case, it was The Terminal. Glad I saw it how/when I did.

I’m meeting with my college friend Henry for drinks in a sec, and then it’s on to a couple of events.
