AFI/AFM 2004.6: Goobers

Nestle is a sponsor of the AFI Fest, which means there are Goobers and Rasinets EVERYWHERE. Which also means that I’ve eaten far too many Goobers than I’d like to remember. Speaking of Goobers, I went to my car this morning to find that some goober had taken off my drivers’ side mirror. What the hell? Thankfully, when I picked up the rental car, I went for the insurance…

Yesterday was the day a few of the other SXSW folks came to town. This included Louis Black, Wendy Cummings, and John Pierson. We all went to dinner at a place called Cafe Capo, joined by Leonard Maltin and his wife, as well as Elizabeth Avellan and Rana Joy Glickman. Some of us went to the Mercant of Venice party later at the Arclight. But everyone was pretty tired, and we called it a day.

Before that, it was meetings and more meetings. At one such meeting, I learned that our SXSW party tonight will be competing with the premiere of Seed of Chucky. Sounds like a face-off is in the works.
