AFI/AFM 2004.7: Party Night

So it’s Thursday and I’m in the process of recovering from a very busy day yesterday and a very busy night last night.

After completing my latest round of KODAK Connect panels, I grabbed dinner with Wendy from SXSW and Kevin from ASCAP. Dinner was brief, because we had to be back at the ArcLight for our SXSW Party. The party was a lot of fun, a great chance to see old and new friends. Folks in the house included: Bill Banowsky and Ray Price from Landmark Theatres, the indieWIRE boys, the Tribeca Film crew, UA acquistions man Jack Turner, producer Sam Kitt, Darren and Jesse from the 7th Floor, Disney Channel superstar Christy Romano and pal Kimberly Brown (Bringing Down The House), the gals of HD EXPO, producers’ rep Jeff Dowd, the Film Threat gang, fest consultants Jon Fitzgerald and Mitch Levine, producer Scott Mosier, director Barry Blaustein, tons of great AFI Fest filmmakers and staff, and tons, tons more.

As soon as the party ended, a group of us were off to the next thing. While the other parties ended soon afterwards, we decided to make our way the American Spirit Smoking Lounge on the roof of the Roosevelt Hotel, always a nice way to see an L.A. landmark. Speaking of which, it’s time for In and Out Burger…
