AFI/AFM 2004.8: 240 Hour Fitness

AFI/AFM 2004.8: 240 Hour Fitness

10 days. I’m spending 10 days in L.A., on business, which means about 10 days of no visits to the gym. That’s 240 hours of no fitness. What makes that worse? The complex here at the ArcLight also contains a 24 Hour Fitness gym. So, every time I arrive or leave, I pass by folks in work-out gear, making my feel very very guilty. I swore off bad food after a trip to In-N-Out Burger yesterday, only to have lunch at Hollywood Blvd.’s famous (deli-friendly) Musso and Frank’s just now. When in Rome, I guess…

I’ve had some great meetings in the mean time as my trip begins to quiet down. SXSW folks Louis Black and Cathy Ross have since left town, leaving me, John, and Wendy to finish up. So last night, Wendy and I visited a reception for the Sonoma Valley Film Festival. One of the fest organizers is Wendy’s cousin, so it was nice to meet some of her family. Meanwhile, the party was at a home in the Hollywood Hills and had a view that rivaled the one Damon Dash has.

More rental car fun: After dealing with no driver’s side mirror (which is a blast, as you can imagine), I got a parking ticket today. $35 for being at a meter three minutes after my limit. I even was there when the guy wrote up the ticket, but I was “too late.” I never thought I’d say this, but I miss my Austin Altima.
