Working Vacation

Working Vacation

I can’t seem to sit still. After the Turkey Trot, I found myself watching tons of Thanksgiving TV. First, it was Catch Me If You Can on HBO. What a good movie… Next, I stumbled into the Dinner For Five marathon on IFC. I love Dinner For Five, yet I’ve missed so many episodes, so this is the ideal viewing for me. After some Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt’s house with family, it’s back to the Dinner For Five marathon (it’s on all night). Bob Odenkirk’s Robert Evans impression is worth it alone.

At one point in the afternoon, I couldn’t sit still any longer and went to the gym. After a five-mile race, working out at the gym probably wasn’t a good idea. Not to mention, this is supposed to be my vacation. But, it’s become a working vacation.

For instance, I dedicated a lot of last night to watching submissions. And now, it’s about to go up to another level. I received an email from someone with a film and the pitch intrigued me so much, I want to see it as soon as possible. Since I’ll be at my father’s house the rest of the weekend, it’ll be Fed Exed there. With the way our festival calendar works, this tends to be a busy weekend for me. Christmas is even busier. Your stocking may have shorts and socks, mine has shorts and features.
