SXSW 2005.1

SXSW 2005.1

So…. first night is done. It’s Saturday morning and I’m at the Austin Convention Center getting ready for the first day of panels and workshops.

Last night seemed to be a huge hit, with opening night film The Wendell Baker Story selling out the massive Paramount Theater. Brothers Luke, Owen, and Andrew Wilson popped down the red carpet along with castmates Harry Dean Stanton and Seymour Cassel. At the A&E Indie Films Opening Night party, things continued to roll as a great DJ, and local rock outfit The Small Stars got everyone in a Lone Star State of Mind. I was a bit exhausted after a crazy day, so I went to bed relatively early (read: 1:00 a.m.).
