I’m primarily posting this because I want my friends who read this blog to hurry up and buy their tickets before they sell out. At last year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival, one of the days was a sell-out, and many anticipate just about all three days of this year’s fest to hit capacity. This is especially true because the organizers have cut daily capacity numbers by about 10,000. The dates are September 23-25, 2005 in Austin’s Zilker Park.
The headliners include: Coldplay, Oasis, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers Band, Wilco, Jimmy Cliff, Lyle Lovett, Robert Randolph, John Prine, and Lucinda Williams. Meanwhile, other notable acts are: The Arcade Fire, Bob Mould, Death Cab For Cutie, Buddy Guy, The Doves, Franz Ferdinand, The Secret Machines, The Decemberists, Bloc Party, Sleater-Kinney, Keane, Thievery Corporation, M83, Tegan and Sara, Steve Earle, Jet, The Futureheads, and the list goes on and on. About 130 long, to be more precise.
