Atomic Shakespeare!

Atomic Shakespeare!

Does anyone remember “Moonlighting”, that terrific TV show from the mid-80s, starring Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis. Tonight I have stumbled across, and am still watching, what was my absolute favorite episode, dubbed “Atomic Shakespeare” and featuring a parody of “Taming of the Shrew.” I vaguely recall referencing this particular episode in a paper for my favorite Shakespeare class.

I just found a fan site that offers and exhaustive look at this particular episode:

Of all sixty-five Moonlighting episodes, none is better remembered, more often asked about (you should read my email!), or more popular than this one. And there’s a very good reason why this is true: this episode is, without question or contest, the most brilliant piece of comedy ever written for Moonlighting. It is consistently witty throughout — every line, every scene, every plot development, every visual image is a work of comic genius.
