To Shred or Not To Shred

To Shred or Not To Shred

As the media has decided to spend the weekend fixated on this current credit card crisis, more and more outlets have explored the issue of paper shredders. And, in a world of paranoia and indentity theft, they’re becoming a pretty domesticated appliance. I just think it’s really funny that – practically overnight – one industry has suddenly become en vogue. “Something like a phenomenon.” So, I started to see what some of the options are, and here’s what I found:

Industrial Paper Shredders, Inc.
“Industrial Paper Shredders, Inc. is a wholly owned American Manufacturing corporation producing high quality, innovative shredding and size reduction equipment here in Salem, Ohio for over 140 years.” 140 years?? Wouldn’t you love to see a paper shredder from 1870, or is it just me?

Secure Shredders Enforces the Law
As the company Secure Shredders lists on its Web site, “there is now one more reason to shred your documents… It’s the LAW!” Luckily, they explain what they mean for us.

Compax Offers Shredder Tips
Thanks to Compax, here’s a comprehensive guide to some helpful shredder tips… including some unfortunate things that happen to curious household cats. Yikes.

Whitaker Brothers Disintegrators and Granulators
For those really BIG jobs, where shredding isn’t enough and you need to disintegrate something… check in with Whitaker Brothers. As they promise, “We know more about disintegrating and granulating than anyone in the business.” Apparently, the Whitakers didn’t sleep through Granulating 101 at the ol’ alma mater.

So, now, happy shredding!
