In the middle of a whirlwind publicity tour that’s had him on everything from Regis and Kelly to TRL to Charlie Rose, Mark Zupan was able to spend a few days back home, in Austin. The star of one of the year’s best documentaries, Murderball, Zupan took some time out Monday to participate in a Q&A following a sneak screening of the film (co-hosted by SXSW) at the Arbor theater:
Murderball is currently in limited release, and opens wider this weekend (Austin, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Boston) and even wider July 29 and August 5. Zupan received a standing ovation at the Monday night sneak (the first hometown screening since it played SXSW in March) and signed autographs after answering questions.
Among the updates he revealed: the 2006 National Championship of Quad Rugby will be held in Austin next April. Visit the official Web site of his team, The Texas Stampede, right here. You can keep up with Zupan’s travels on his MTV blog.
