"Cautiva" received prestigious honors

Spanish-language feature “Cautiva” centers on an Argentine teenager who finds out she is someone other than what she had been raised to believe. Her life is uprooted as she is taken out of class by a judge and told that the people she knows as her parents had in fact adopted her. The girl’s biological parents fell victim to the disappeared in the early ’80s, a group of people who were murdered for criticizing the political regime. “Cautiva” received the Horizons Award for best Latin American film at the San Sebastian Film Festival and screened at the New Directors/New Films series.
