Recently, I was chatting with someone in the know about Chappelle’s Show and they gave the program’s chances of returning a “50/50” shot. Meanwhile, that same person declared the stuff that has been filmed for the ill-fated third season, among the best stuff Dave Chappelle has ever done on the series. Unfortunately, with a recent interview by series regular/writer Charlie Murphy, the future of the hit series looks bleaker than ever. Among Murphy’s comments:
“Chappelle’s Show is over, man. Done. It took me a long time to be able to say those words, but I can say it pretty easy now, because it’s the truth. There’s no way to get around it. It’s a new day. I’m disappointed it ended the way it did, but I’m not angry with anybody. Chappelle’s Show was like the Tupac of TV shows. It came out, it got everybody’s attention, it was a bright shining star, but it burned out and for some strange reason.”
