You don’t have to stray far from outlets like Comedy Central to realize that THINKFilm is about to open their summer hit, The Aristocrats, very wide over the next few weeks. The most obscene film in theaters right now, the film has garnered acclaim, disgust, and tons of fans on both sides of that fence.
As part of the larger roll-out, this week’s Austin Chronicle features an interview with the film’s producer, comedian/magician Penn Jillette. Shawn Badgley writes up the article, which includes Jillette’s opinion about more than just the subject matter of The Aristocrats:
“People on Penn Jillette’s shit list: Martin Scorsese (‘Okay, you know what, Taxi Driver, he got lucky, and everything else just sucked … it’s one of those: Everybody says he’s great, so he must be’); Scorsese’s muse, Robert De Niro (‘the worst actor in the world … there’s never been a worse actor; he did a couple of good movies, and we pretend he’s a good actor, whereas Bruce Willis, because he came from TV, everyone thinks he does a good job, but he can’t be considered a good actor’)…”
Check out the rest of the article, including whether or not Jillette’s much older sister (“a little old lady in New England”) will be seeing The Aristocrats in theaters.
