IN TELLURIDE | Buzzing in the van...

Again, just as Telluride Film Festival co-directors Tom Luddy and Bill Pence like it, event attendees were in the dark as they arrived in town for the annual Labor Day film fest. The group I rode the 2-hour shuttle from Montrose with didn’t know a thing about this year’s roster before getting to Colorado. The “civilians” from Indianapolis and Maryland I met sounded excited to see “Capote” and were buzzing when I told them that Charlotte Rampling would be receiving an award.

Our van was also buzzing about a short film… Laura Richard‘s “Breached,” a film about a pregnant Mexican woman determined to have her baby in America; the filmmaker, here from NYU, rode up with us on the shuttle as well. So, all of us asked her for a postcard so we’d remember the early morning screening on Saturday.

Meanwhile, indieWIRE posted my full festival lineup story this afternoon as I made my way to Telluride, so the complete weekend roster is out…
