'ReAct Now' Downloads Coming

Songs from artists as varied as U2, Big & Rich, Beck, and David Banner will soon become available for download, benefiting the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The songs are live performances from last week’s massive “ReAct Now: Music & Relief” telethon. Proceeds will be given to Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, according to a Billboard article. No word on which outlets will offer the songs for purchase, but it will not include iTunes. The article states that Apple’s iTunes service will not offer these downloads, because it “already has its own Katrina-related fundraising activities in place.”
