TIFF 2005.1: Forever Yonge

TIFF 2005.1: Forever Yonge

Just checked in to my hotel, the Marriott on Yonge. I stayed here two years ago, and it’s nice to be back. Some confusion around, because there are two Marriott hotels that are popular places during TIFF. One of them is the Bloor Yorkville, and the other, is the Yonge one. Mine, is the Yonge one. So, some people and I mistakenly tought we were staying at the same hotel. But some of us are. I saw publicist/actor Mickey Cottrell and actress Barbara Hershey chatting in the lobby when I checked in.

Flights were good, Austin to Chicago and then Chicago to Toronto. The whole way, I was carrying Ron Mann’s new satellite radio. Now, why was I doing that? It’s a long story, but let’s just say the brand-new satellite radio made it here safe and sound, despite being carried across the continent with a week’s worth of clothes, among other things.

Time to get rested, refreshed, and ready for tonight’s events. It’s nice to be in Toronto again.
