Part of the current celebration for 20 years of the Austin Film Society, is a special program running between now and next summer. It’s a monthly program of films curated in past years of the Film Society, and they will all consist of 35mm prints. Last week had the Sirk (Imitation of LIfe) and Fassbinder (Ali: Fear Eats The Soul) double feature. Following months will include masterworks by Luis Bunuel, Jean-Luc Godard, Andrei Tarkovsky, and more.
All of the screenings will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown, and it’s free to Austin Film Society members. Tickets are $4 for everyone else, but you can sign up to be an Austin Film Society member at the theater.
