INDUSTRY MOVES: Weyermann Joins Participant Productions

Diane Weyermann has joined Participant Productions as the company’s Executive Vice President of Documentary Production. She is assuming the newly created position following her role as director of the Sundance Institute‘s Documentary Film Program. She will manage the company’s doc slate, including the acquisition of new projects and supervising projects from development through release. She will report to company president Ricky Strauss. Participant doc projects include “Murderball” and the upcoming “The World According to Sesame Street.” Sundance has not yet announced a replacement for Weyermann, but Robert Redford issued a statement commending her on her five years with the Institute, and adding, “We wish her all the best in her new adventure at Participant and we look forward to continuing her relationship with the Institute as well as working together on projects in the future.” [Eugene Hernandez]
