Nominations for the movie adaptation of John le Carre‘s novel of the same name include one for Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, producer for Simon Channing Williams and film of the year. Meirelles will have to fight off challenges from Ang Lee (“Brokeback Mountain“), Paul Haggis (“Crash“), Peter Jackson (“King Kong“) and David Cronenberg (“A History of Violence“) for best director honors.
