The Top 25 Films of 2005

The Top 25 Films of 2005

My personal list of the Top 10 Films of 2005 was recently published in indieWIRE. But, as anyone who has made one of these lists will know, there are always many things that almost make the Top 10 cut but can’t. So, similar to what I did last year, I thought I would use this blog to share my list of the Top 25 Films of 2005.

The criteria? It had to be a film that, in some way, received a theatrical release in 2005. This means that many films I loved on the festival circuit were not eligible. Plus, there were a few films released this year made by friends of mine (Be Here To Love: A Film About Townes Van Zandt, The Fearless Freaks, Reel Paradise, etc.) that I felt weird adding despite how much I really do like them.

Here’s my list of the Top 25 Films of 2005:
1. Me and You and Everyone We Know
2. Murderball
3. Crash
4. The Beat That My Heart Skipped
5. Tstosi
