As we announced earlier this week, SXSW 2006 will host the world premiere of Ron Mann’s latest film, Tales of the Rat Fink. Headlined by John Goodman, the film also features an all-star vocal cast, narrating different aspects of the film. To shed some light on who has joined the film, Peter Howell from The Toronto Star files a report about author Tom Wolfe joining the cast. An excerpt:
“Paul LeMat reprises his role from American Graffiti playing a yellow ’32 Cruiser. Jay Leno is Flamethrower, a ’55 Chevy who recalls the golden age of custom cars. Matt Groening (The Simpsons) plays Finkster, a custom PT Cruiser who discusses Roth’s influence on the culture — where would Bart Simpson be without the Rat Fink, I ask you?
Perhaps the most hilarious bit in the film is by The Smothers Brothers’ Dick, who plays a Viking Wagon attached to his brother Tom, a trailer. Did you know that Dick Smothers was once a racing car driver? Everyone in the film has some connection to Roth.”
