Picture This! Entertainment to Take "Whole New Thing" to U.S. Theaters

Picture This! Entertainment announces today its acquisition of the controversial Canadian coming-of-age, comedic drama “Whole New Thing” directed by Amnon Buchbinder. An official selection of both the 2005 Toronto and 2006 Palm Springs International Film Festivals, the film will hit U.S. theatres in Autumn 2006 after after completing its festival run. The film centers on precocious 13-year-old Emerson Thorsen, home-schooled by hippie parents Kaya and Rog in rural Nova Scotia. After enrolling in the local junior high, Emerson develops a crush on English teacher Don Grant, a gay man stuck in a life of perpetual adolescence. The U.S. acquisition of “Whole New Thing” was negotiated by Bray Witkins and Douglas Witkins of President of Picture This! Entertainment . [Brian Brooks]
